Coastliners - Joanne Harris

I loved the setting of the book and the Islanders and their inter-relations with each other. I love the twilight scenes and the treacle of romance weaved inbetween the pages.

The best surprise was at the end? How would have guessed it? Especially the mysterious way that GrosJean died - repeating his brothers death? (Or almost).

The book feels very human, the main character always an outsider till the end.

Very good book, I loved the way the author described the scenes, the boat-rescues, the people. Capucine with her chocolate covered cherries in her caravan? Made me smile.

I enjoyed Flynn's absentmind and the time when he left a lobster wrapped in old newspaper at her door. I loved the description of the lobster-pots and the Santa Marina with burned out candles and flower at her feet....overlooking the little village.
